10% Of People Are Level 5 Leaders
Level 5 leadership to me has always been the highest form of leadership and those are the people who know what to do next because they see a possibility. My top level 5 leaders, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Winston Churchill, John F. Kennedy Jr., Barrack Obama, Mother Theresa, Sir Lynden Pindling and John C. Houbolt. They all found a way to get what they wanted. What is interesting about the level 5 leader and leadership is that your position is not permanent. Leadership is the story of what’s possible and what to do next. You can be a level 5 leader in one moment and a level 2 leader when you get home. It all depends on what you are ready for. If someone is choking in a restaurant and you know how to execute the heimlich maneuver and brave enough to help, you can save that person’s life and be a level 5 leader. On the same token, ten minutes later when you get in your car, you have no idea how to relate to your teenage daughter. Level 5 leaders represent an idea and know what to do next and it has been my experience that at least 10% of the people are level 5 leaders. Think about it and tell me what you think.
